<p>The Next Chapter The Prologue: An Unexpected Opening Our story began with a simple scroll and a local profile that caught my eye. Don’s bio said he was “looking for friends,” and since I was firmly in my “just friends” era, it felt right to say hello. After a few messages—and a bit of my signature impatience—I told him, “Welcome back to Muskogee; if you ever want to hang out, message me.” That message turned into a long porch conversation, and the rest is history. Don didn’t just win my heart; he won over my children and grandchildren, becoming the gentle, patient anchor our family needed. Chapter One: Healing and New Beginnings On April 17, 2026, Don asked me to spend forever with him, and my “yes” was the easiest word I’ve ever spoken. He loves every page of me—my many conversations, my urge to rearrange the house, and even my tendency to build things just to move them again. He honors my past while helping build our future, holding me steady on the hard days. We’ve both known heartache, but together we’re writing a new story of healing and joy. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on February 27, 2027, in Muskogee—here’s to the next chapter.</p>

Greg Courtney is Don’s big brother—friends, foil, and partner in mischief since 1976. Their decades of stories range from the downright wild to the quietly ridiculous. The first time MeShon met Greg she answered a phone call through hearing aids linked to her phone; Greg and his wife quietly moved away thinking she’d lost her mind until Don explained. Dependable, funny, and endlessly loyal, Greg has always had Don’s back.

Baylee and MeShon met in 2014 while babysitting, and their friendship has only grown since—through moves from Tulsa to Claremore and now Muskogee. Baylee is MeShon’s ride-or-die, partner in crime, and chosen sister: loyal through the best and worst times. There’s no one MeShon would rather have by her side on this journey. Thank you, Baylee, for being my best friend.

Nathan Thurston is Bryan and Stephanie’s third child and a constant source of smiles. He’s warm and joyful—full of energy but prefers calm, familiar routines. Nathan has a wonderful way of brightening a room, and we’re so happy he’ll be part of our day as Ring Security.
